Project Description:
This project included an airlift apron consisting of concrete ridged pavement with asphalt shoulders (2,104 m2). The construction included all required pavement markings and associated apron airfield lighting for aircraft movement. The apron design is a medium-load pavement that can accommodate the simultaneous refueling of two (2) C-5 aircrafts via refueler trucks. A High mast "ball park" lighting for the airlift apron, and a water line (for fire system). Aircraft Fueling System including two (2) fuel storage tanks and a distribution system that included facilities for on-site fuel delivery and offload, fuel storage, fuel filtration and pumping, fuel upload, and fuel operations. Necessary utilities and site improvements including potable water, sanitary, wastewater, electrical utilities, storm water drainage, pavements, fire detection and suppression, communications, and antiterrorism/force protection measures (including security fence, vehicle/personnel access gates, lighting, etc. ) required to make the facilities complete and usable. A Rigid pavement road was constructed from the fuel storage and distribution area to the airlift apron for military refueler trucks.
